Minneapolis Children's Photographer|NE Minneapolis Photography Studio

This little guy celebrated his first birthday this past weekend at our NE Minneapolis Studio. How time flies, seriously, it wasn't that long ago I was photographing him as a newborn!! What a neat job I have to see how these little ones grow.
So, his mom and I coordinated and communicated several weeks before his birthday shoot. Mom knew she wanted some fun, colorful elements. Once we settled on a color scheme for outfits, I made sure to have just the right shade of balloons to match little Mr. Man.
Birthday sessions are so much fun, and they should be. They should be a little bit different than the standard, a little bit more colorful. Thank you Mr. "B" for taking some big boy birthday photos with Joy Orcutt Photography. Thanks for bringing your sister along too, she was soooo helpful! www.joyorcuttphotography.com

Minneapolis Children's Photographer|Valentine Photos Minneapolis

I love Valentine's Day! I don't know, maybe because I'm a truly blessed woman and have three valentine's of my own at home to love and cherish... Yes, but also because I love the color PINK and I loooove hearts!! If you are a friend of mine, you know that I love the color pink, maybe just a little too much. Anyway, There is no holding back on the pink AND hearts when it is nearing Valentine's Day right?? This little 18-month-old cutie and her parents came to my NE Minneapolis Photo Studio this past weekend to capture this time in their life. Mom told me, "We want to capture her just doing her thing right now..." The life of an 18-month-old is constantly, go, go, GO! Yes, we did capture her on the go a lot. But I also am pretty sneaky in getting these little ones to take a moment's pause... and CLICK, we photographed a super cute look!

The "K" family was a referral from a previous client. I cannot tell you how much of a compliment it is to us at Joy Orcutt Photography, to receive a referral. Thank you "K" family for hanging out at my studio. We can't wait to photograph miss "A" again in the future!

Minneapolis Senior Portrait Photographer|Minneapolis Senior Portraits

I'm posting more senior portraits from last summer and fall around Minneapolis. These seniors are from Totino Grace, St. Anthony Village, Blaine and Centennial High Schools! I love shooting senior portraits, they are all so unique. I also can't help that I tend to bond a little with the seniors. It is a great experience for them, the hair, the new clothes, some fun locations and poses.
We will be shooting a lot of seniors from the Class of 2012 yet this year, stay tuned!

Let's all get excited about Valentine's Day... Shall we??

So, I suppose that means I should finish putting away my Christmas decorations then. LOL! Seriously, though, it is a fun time at my Minneapolis Photo Studio, because I get to use some fun elements, bright colors, all things cute and lovey! We also seem to have a lot of recently engaged couples who like to shoot their engagement photos around Valentine's Day. How appropriate. Stay tuned for more of what comes out of the studio in the next couple of weeks as we are getting ready for the most lovable day of the year.

Minneapolis Children's Photographer|Minneapolis Senior Photographer

Okay, so aside from lots of editing, ordering, client customer service... here are the other things we have been doing for the last six weeks...

Maintaining an advent calendar

Photographing my own family!! This is my brother getting creamed in the face by his fiancee... ha ha, I don't know why I love this photo so much... maybe because he's my brother... hmmm...

Making teacher gifts...

Baking, of course!

Lots of eating... LOTS, too much!

A "sleigh" ride

setting up hot chocolate bars...

A whole-lotta crafts!

Most of all, a lot of reflecting and efforts to make time stop.

Oh, it was a good one. Hope yours was all of this and more!
