Whoa baby! The last couple of months has brought so many newborns to Joy Orcutt Photography!! It certainly is a sign of spring, newborn babies and newborn photo sessions. My studio is set up and ready to go, plenty of toasty heat (I love my portable heater and so do babies), plenty of blankets, fabrics, comfy pillows, plenty of cute hats, headbands, diaper covers, wraps... so many ways to keep the little ones cute and comfy. I also make sure that mom and dad are relaxed too, places to nurse and the ability to sit back and relax while I pose and create those first portraits that they can keep forever. I know when new parents think about their newborn photos, most think of those sleepy baby photos. They are pretty amazing, but I do love when newborns are awake for some photos too. Their eyes are so shiny and beautiful. If we're lucky, in a newborn session, we get a mixture of both sleeping baby and awake baby pictures.

Spring Senior Portraits|Minneapolis Senior Portraits

Senior season is in high gear at Joy Orcutt Photography. In case you didn't know the low-down, Joy usually shoots the senior girls and Jason usually shoots the senior dudes. Just seems natural that way. We are crazy busy right now shooting both the Class of 2011 still for this year AND senior reps for The Class of 2012! We have already begun scheduling senior photo sessions for the summer and things are going to book up fast!! I looove senior sessions!! Spring Mini's! Minneapolis Children's Photographer

Phew! Finally spring is on the way! My spring mini sessions came so fast and hopefully spring will now too! The mini sessions booked up very fast, so that tells me they are a client favorite. I love doing 6-month-old photo shoots, it seems to be a magical happy going age for kids.

Z is such a good big brother already!

This little fairy came to me last December to be photographed in her Christmas jammies with her cousin. Now she's back with her mom and dad. We took some family photos but the highlight of the session involves her wings...
Her daddy surprised her with the wings and fairy outfit, how fitting that I should catch him adoring her in the mirror...

Minneapolis Wedding Photographer|Engagement session with the family

What a beautiful and fun family. We met up on a Saturday morning to capture some family bonding. I love St. Anthony Main for photo shoots. You get a little bit of everything, urban photos, some greenery and park-like setting, some shots of the city skyline. Plus, kids love exploring.
