Minneapolis Senior Portraits|Minneapolis Senior Photographer

This was such a fun family session to do. Mom and dad were wearing bright, spring colors. Oh, and of course, they brought along their too cute newly-turned one-year-old boy for some family photos. I love his appliqued personalized t-shirt. This is a great idea to really add a fun, personal touch to photos.

mom brought dad's tie and I couldn't resist letting him play with a vintage camera. How cute!

I just love doing this pose for a family session. I love how it shows just how little your little one is at this moment. They won't be this little for long!

and a new personal favorite here... I have found other photographers who have done something similar with the Cheerios, mommy brought in the box to dump in the bowl and let baby boy at it!

Thank you "C" family!! We had a blast, I look forward to photographing you all again for a future Minneapolis family photo session.

too cute|Minneapolis Children's Photographer

I simply had to sneak some time to post a pic of this little owelet. How cute is he? I must admit, it has been rather difficult lately to keep up with blog posts. I know a lot of my clients are over on Facebook checking out my latest work. But the blog needs some love too! This little guy was six months old. I love that egg basket Jason snagged at a consignment shop not long ago... It can contain even the wiggliest of little ones from 3 months on up.. I even had an almost two-year-old tucked in there, feet happily dangling and all! Thanks to Kara Olson of knitonecrochettwo over on Etsy for the too too cute owl hat!!

Phew! Finally spring is on the way! My spring mini sessions came so fast and hopefully spring will now too! The mini sessions booked up very fast, so that tells me they are a client favorite. Here is just a few pics from the day, I will be posting more later with a more in-depth look at mini sessions.

A big "Thank You" to all my clients who came to the mini sessions. It sure was fun and got us all in the mood for spring.

Minneapolis Newborn Photographer|Twin Cities Baby Photographer

How sweet this little newborn photo session was. Little miss "M" did a fantastic session. I mean, just look how she is cooperating with us and sleeping in a tiny little basket...
She was doing so well and we were ahead of schedule so there was a little bit of time to let big brother hold her and be in on a photo! Its a big job for a brother to hold his newborn sister!

I love photographing the newborn baby skin, so cute!
Thank you to the "J" family for choosing Joy Orcutt Photography for their Minneapolis newborn session. We had fun posing little miss in those cute baskets and blankets.

One-year-old birthday photos|Minneapolis Baby Photographer

In addition to several other sessions this past weekend at my NE Minneapolis Studio, I happened to have two little kiddos that were just turning one! What a monumental time for a custom photo session. These two were so fun to photograph.

Oh, and look at their eyes!! Those cheeks and those eyes. They are definitely growing out of that baby stage... so big!

I love the one-year-old birthday photo session, I think it is such a big deal to parents, making it through that first year. Happy birthday little ones!

Minneapolis Newborn Photographer|Minneapolis Children's Photographer

Welcome baby "E," it was so nice to meet you at the studio with your family. Your big sister Ava will show you how to rock your photo sessions as you grow!! Joy Orcutt Photography is over the moon to shoot newborn photo sessions, they are so special. This little peanut did such an awesome job, we got some shots with her bright eyes...

and she decided to snooze for awhile to, which was fine with me and her mom. That is the beauty of a custom Joy Orcutt Photography newborn session, lots of time to get aquainted, time for feedings, time for playing, time to not be stressed out about your session running out quickly and people waiting in line behind you... oh, and time for some photos!

plenty of time and attention to all those little details, because they won't be little for very long!
Miss "E" was one week old. This session was two days before Christmas. I know the "C" family had a most peaceful and blessed Christmas!
Thank you!

No, you are not seeing double... this is a lovely set of twin girls, identical to be exact. And boy, are they IDENTICAL! I started photographing this family when the twins' older sister was a newborn!

Mom was soooooo smart to start bringing babies' initials with to their photo shoots!! This helped me big time with editing and keeping track of them, plus it is super cute!
Also, babies love to eat their letters!

Photographing twins is hard work! I guess BEING photographed is hard work too! Ha! I love how they are reaching out to eachother in times of distress!!

Of course, the session would not be complete without pics of big sissy, she was a big help and their family simply would not be complete without her!

Thank you "F" family! Can't wait for the big one-year birthday photos!!!
