Minneapolis Senior Photographer | Looking back and moving forward

Just a quick post about a few of my clients from last year. All of my seniors have been so great to work with. The future is just begining for these rockin seniors and I am sure they will all do great things.

The class of 2010 is almost gone and the class of 2011 is looking to rock things this summer. We have spent all winter waiting and preparing for our 2011 seniors, new places to shoot, new studio and new ideas! Lets get together and show them how the class of 2011 does it!

Nothing could make me happier than when clients continue to come to me to mark the milestones in their lives. Little "M" is turning 1. That is such a big deal. I know, when my kids turned one, it was such a celebration both for my husband and I. It might just be THE most monumental birthday for mom and dad. That first year can be such a rollercoaster. This mom and dad are going to be so glad years from now, that they made sure to get custom photos of their little peanut when she turned one.
Mom was so prepared too, with the birthday hat and tutu...

Such a pretty girl!

And after we played around with some of the accessories in my dress-up trunk at the studio...

I can't resist putting a big flower on the top of a cute little girl!

I love the sparkles in their eyes in this photo. These happen to be cousins who came in to the studio for some photos.
Most of the time, my favorite shots are the ones I take while getting set up, getting situated or while testing my light. I love the piggies, love the ones painted blue here too...
I love the combination of blues and greens, it works so well here.

Look at ALL those baby blues here... So precious. Thank you for coming to my studio, we had fun and the kids were waaaaay too easy to photograph!!

Lately my Saturdays at the NE Minneapolis studio have been completely full and this past Saturday was no exception. Here are just a few images from the fun world of a Minneapolis Children's Photographer...

awww... these clients have returned to me several times to capture their milestones. They are growing like weeds! It seems like just yesterday I was photographing little miss "A" in her 1-year-old birthday hat.



We also had new clients to Joy Orcutt Photography... Mr. "H" and his mommy.

This lovely duo was referred by another client I photographed later in the afternoon...

Yay! there's a genuine boy smile! (well, anyone would laugh when they hear me try to make animal sounds!)

...AND... Hello again "W" family! The last time we got together for photos I captured this little man in a bucket carried by his mom and dad... still one of my favorites.

He was so cute carrying around his blankie, blankies are special.

Not sure who was having more fun running around the studio and playing peekaboo, child or dad??

Its such a rarity... to see these two 2-year-old feet stopping to take a break.
I just love these shoes and I know it won't be long until they are dirty and muddy... spring is on the way! These were taken at the Minneapolis studio. A big part of children's photography is capturing their little details.

Minneapolis Children's Photographer| Modern Children's Photography Minneapolis

Its been waaaaay long since I last photographed these little dudes. I don't know why they were so shy at first, I know their mom quite well.

But that's cool, custom photography allows for time to relax, get used to the surroundings. I took some time to just capture their little boy feet, and the lizard on J's shirt! Hey, I'm no dummy... I know kids really don't want to sit and be posed and say "cheese" a billion times, so I had mom make sure to bring about a billion and one Matchbox cars.

We spread them out and out came the big, wide, genuine kid smiles.

This lovely family came to the Minneapolis studio for some spring photos. We needed to capture Little "B's" six month old baby pictures. We also needed to get 3 year old photos for miss "K" who is having a birthday real soon. Their mom brought the most adorable outfits, a dream for a children's photographer.
